Can I drive to school, if so are their any guidelines?

Parents and students must follow the directions of the School's Traffic Management plan when driving to and from school. Details are available on the School Website at:http://www.trinity.nsw.edu.au/news_links/2015/community/traffic_management.pdf . Currently only Year 12 are able to drive to school.

What are the hair requirements?

Must always be clean and tidy, well brushed and combed. Haircuts may not be such as to invite comment for any reason, whether they be too long, too short, or both. Long strands of hair draped over shaved parts of the scalp are not acceptable, neither are very short haircuts. Undercut haircuts are not acceptable. No haircuts should be done with a cutting comb that is less than a '3' on the sides of the head and a '4' on top of the head. Hair must be above the collar and not covering the ears. It should not be so long that it needs to be tied back to play sport. Hair must be its natural colour and not dyed or set with hair gel.

Why does Trinity offer the IB?

As an Independent School, Trinity is committed to offering our boys

as wide a choice of appropriate options as possible. While NSW

has always maintained a very strong credential in its Higher School

Certificate, the International Baccalaureate represents another very

strong programme with an international focus. The IB offers our boys

a different experience with different emphases and opportunities. It

thus opens up more choices and new possibilities for Trinity students.

For the School, the IB provides an important international benchmark

of quality. If our boys do well in the IB, we know that the quality of the

education provided at Trinity is of a standard commensurate with the

best schools in the world

Can I chew gum?

The chewing of gum, or the possession of it, is not allowed. Many classrooms and dormitories are carpeted, and gum causes widespread damage. A one hour detention is likely to be issued to boys in Years 7-12.

Why might a student prefer the HSC?

The HSC is the local credential, comparatively well understood by

the community, parents and employers. Most of the boys’ friends

at other schools will be studying for the HSC and can share the

experience.

> Because a greater number of students take the HSC, Trinity is

able to offer a wider choice of subjects for boys on that pathway.

As a very broad credential, the HSC also caters for those who are

not destined for university and would prefer to undertake some

vocational subjects. Boys undertaking the HSC move easily to

TAFE and other further training, as well as some directly to work.
